Regular joint pain or swelling sufferers understand the agonising anguish of an unexpected flare-up. While there are many reasons why someone could feel persistent joint pain, arthritis is one of the more frequent causes.

GlutenGood-quality, gluten-containing meals can be just fine and safe to eat for the average individual who doesn't have arthritis. Unfortunately, gluten may be a trigger for flare-ups in people who experience chronic joint pain.

 

Products containing gluten and wheat have been discovered to potentially cause inflammation over time, and inflammation is directly connected to joint discomfort and swelling. The gluten-free diet has a beneficial effect on reducing the signs and symptoms of arthritis and joint pain.

 

However, we do not advocate being gluten-free for anyone. Products containing gluten may provide amounts of fibre that are advantageous to consumers who do not have arthritis or another autoimmune illness.

 

Processed foodAlthough delicious and inexpensive, highly processed food has a long list of unfavourable side effects, including the capacity to exacerbate joint pain and inflammation. Processed foods are known to make arthritis symptoms worse by causing things like significant weight gain and elevated inflammation. Like everything else on this list, we're not saying you should never eat processed food again, but we do advise reducing it when you can to reduce joint swelling.

Red meatRegularly substituting plant-based proteins for red and processed meats may help ease the painful and swollen symptoms of arthritis. More inflammation has been linked to red meat consumption. Going plant-based and giving up red meat can assist with arthritis symptoms.

You don't have to give up any of these items forever, but cutting back drastically on your intake will likely help you find some long-term relief from joint discomfort.
